Glimpse Of 500cc BMW Roadster Concept.

BMW has once again made an appearance at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2014 with a new motorcycle study named the ‘Concept Roadster’. BMW says the concept bike previews the brand’s aspirations in regard to future generations of Boxer powered roadsters. The Roadster concept follows on the lines of BMW’s Concept Ninety that was presented at the same event last year and showcases some very stealthy street-fighter looks and a completely drool-some rear end. We feel this bike will give design cues to BMW’s upcoming 500cc bike which will be manufactured by TVS Motor in India.

The BMW Concept Roadster comes with a striking design that will grab your immediate attention. Despite being a concept, the motorcycle is very much believable and the kind we would like to see more often on the streets. The predator-ish LED headlight unit; outlandishly sculpted open exhaust and the distinctive triangular frame finished in blue are some of the styling cues we want to see on the production version as well. The overall appearance shouts masculinity, while the white paint job lends a certain kind of devilish charm to the Roadster concept. If the bike does make it production, we hope the transition isn’t too radical from the concept.

Powering the BMW Roadster Concept is a 1170cc twin-cylinder Boxer engine that produces 125 PS of power at 7750 RPM and 125 Nm of torque at 6500 RPM. The Roadster Concept features a single-sided swing arm with cardan drive and a light tubular space frame with a rear section made of gloss milled aluminium. The concept also gets matted LED-technology lights along with a future oriented engine spoiler, which not only performs an aerodynamic function but also incorporates the entire front silencer. The Roadster Concept is exciting to look at and will certainly be equally exciting to ride.
